Queens' College Badminton Club
Queens’ College Amateur Dramatics Society (BATS)
BATS is the Amateur Dramatics Society of Queens' College, Cambridge. We are fortunate to have the use of one of the best performance spaces in Cambridge: the Fitzpatrick theatre. This is a modern, well-equipped venue with a capacity of 208. We aim to host two shows a term in this theatre as well as providing funding for other student theatre around Cambridge. BATS is also hoping to host some in-college theatre workshops and events exclusively for Queens' students.
Queens' College Boat Club (QCBC)
Queens’ College Boat Club is a rowing club open to all members of college, with any level of experience. QCBC train every term and regularly enter boats at all levels into competitions, including the Lent and May bumps races. We are also very active off the river, with many social events.
Queens' Christian Union
Currently, we meet on Mondays at 5pm in the Faith Roon (FF8), with perhaps 1-2 bigger events during the term (like text-a-toastie); just come along to join or get in touch with any social media accounts or the new reps.
Queens' Climbing Club
We are a society of keen climbers who regularly go to climb at the local bouldering centre and occasionally make more far-fetched trips to roped indoor centres and outdoor walls.
Queens' College Cricket Club
Winter nets take place during Michaelmas and Lent terms, providing opportunity for players to progress their games and practice their skills in a friendly, informal environment. The Club runs a JCR XI and an MCR XI in both the Cuppers and League competitions. As there is not a separate women's cricket competition, women are warmly invited to play equally for their respective JCR/MCR teams. Fixtures are scheduled around exams throughout Easter Term, and make for an excellent break from work, with plenty of opportunity for those of all cricketing abilities to shine through a range of ‘friendly’ fixtures against other colleges, local teams, and invitational sides.

The Erasmus Society
The Queens’ History Society. We create a community of historians at Queens’ and allow other students to broaden their historical knowledge by hosting talks.
Queens' Film Society
The Queens’ Film Society aims to promote thoughtful and critical
discussion of cinema across a variety of genres and filmmaking styles. We are primarily concerned with hosting screenings of unique films and encouraging conversation among our members after viewings, especially as a means of analysing films from a number of philosophical and theoretical lenses. We also wish to nurture the student filmmaking scene in Cambridge by hosting screenings of student-made films in collaboration with other societies.

Queens' College Hockey Club
We are the Queens' College Hockey Team. We play in the 7-a-side Mixed College Hockey League with matches every Sunday and optional training on Thursdays 4-6. We welcome members with a huge variety of experience so just come along and give it a go!
Queens' College Islamic Society
This society provides a general space for people interested in Islam and we support the needs of Muslim members of the College.
The St. Margaret's Music Society of Queens' College (MagSoc)
Music Society: weekly recitals during Michaelmas and Lent, MagSoc Chorus who rehearse on a Thursday evening, termly concerts in West Road Concert hall for orchestra and chorus – check out our website for more information, email [email protected] if you are interested in getting involved with concerts / the committee.
Queens' MedVet Society
The MedVet Society exists to foster collaboration and community amongst students studying medicine or veterinary medicine at the College, through academic and social events and initiatives. The Society is open to all medical and veterinary students at Queens’.
Queens' MMLL Society
This society aims to bring together the students of MMLL at Queens’ to create a thriving community and encourage wider interests outside of the topics and languages studied. Through regular meetings and gatherings, the MMLL community at Queens’ will interact more than they have in the past and this will ultimately further enrich their university experience.
Queens' College Ladies and Mixed Netball Club
This club is made up of multiple teams to make up both Mixed and Ladies’ teams that compete in the college leagues with a mix of playing ability for all students to enjoy.
Penguins (Ultimate Frisbee)
We are an Ultimate Frisbee/Flying Disc College League team which trains with and competes against other colleges across the university. We have about 15-20 members who regularly attend matches and trainings. We have a match or training once every weekend. We usually train on Jesus Green, Queens' pitches or Newnham pitches depending on the time of year.
Queens' Politics Society
Queens' Politics Society provides a forum for political discussion and discourse with speaker's events and debates.
Queens' College Rugby Football Club (QCRFC)
To allow students at Queens’ to play and train rugby. Members of the society will be able to train at least once a week and will have the opportunity to play in weekend fixtures. The club will be open to all students.

Queens' Stand Up Paddleboarding Society
This society will provide the students of Queens with the opportunity to go paddleboarding recreationally once a week in a fun social environment.
Queens' Volleyball
This society is aimed at all levels of ability for Queens’ members to learn and continue to develop their volleyball skills. This society is open to both the JCR and MCR.
Queens' College Basketball Team
If you love playing basketball this is the society for you. All skill levels are welcome, join us for weekly training sessions and competitive games in Cambridge College League and Cuppers League! Join the team and help us bring the Cuppers trophy - donated by a Queens’ alumnus - back where it belongs.
Queens' Bench Law Society (QBLS)
This society exists to connect all current law students at Queens’, while providing invaluable networking opportunities, careers events and support to all members.
Queens' Chess Club
This society exists to promote the stimulating hobby of chess. Weekly events are held usually in the Woodville room catering to all levels of ability and chances to participate in a university chess league if players are more competitive.
Queens' Classics Society
This society exists for classicists of Queens’ as well as for all university students interested in the classical world to get together around classical-themed events.
Queens' Computer Science Society
This society advocates for the study of computer science within Queens’ College through lectures and other events.
Queens' Economics Society (QEcS)
The society will allow students at Queens' who either study or are interested in economics to organise social events, formals, talks and more. The society will be open to all students. Our main role is to invite economists to give talks in Queens’, with a focus on topics that are not covered within tripos. We also organize socials and dinners.
Queens' Engineering Department (QED)
This society is responsible for organising outreach and networking events for all engineers at Queens’, as well as holding academic events to complement the course content.
Queens' Feminist Society
This society exists to support and encourage feminism in Queens’. The society aims to collaborate with similar societies at other colleges to build a network for organising events to raise money for and awareness of gender-related issues.
Queens' College Association Football Club (QCAFC)
QCAFC will promote the sport of football at Queens'. QCAFC will offer coaching and opportunities to take part in competitive football. The society shall be open to all students. There’s three teams currently; Boars I and IIs (Queens men’s and Non-binary squads) as well as the Greens (women’s and Non-Binary Squad). Each train and play weekly. Matches will be on weekends at the Barton Road Pitches (When home) OR at other teams pitches. Trainings differ according to captain availabilities but will be once a week at Queens Backs. The club was formed officially in 2022 to intregrate the squads between jcr and mcr as well as to increase inclusivity in queens. We are a substantial club with 50+ students.
The Isaac Milner Society (MilSoc)
This is the Natural Sciences Society for Queens'. We organise events throughout the year (eg. Christmas and Annual dinner) to get the NatScis together and to allow the different year groups to get to know each other. We also run workshops during Michaelmas and Lent term to help the First Years settle in and to give them any help with supervision work/advice they may need.
Queens' College Jewish Society
This society exists as a body representing Jewish students at Queens’ and for Jewish students to meet and support each other. Students will be able to enjoy social, cultural, educational and religious events put on by QJsoc. The society shall be open to all students who are Jewish or interested in Judaism.
Queens' Mathematics Society (QMS)
This society aims to provide multiple talks throughout the academic year for the maths community at Queens’ College on a wide variety of mathematical topics. It should provide opportunities for Queens’ mathematicians to meet and discuss maths outside of lectures and supervisions.
Queens' Mixed Lacrosse
This club allows students of the JCR and MCR to play lacrosse at a college level and participate in Cuppers. It serves as a place to let beginners practice lacrosse
Queens' Nature and Environment Society (QNES)
This society exists to promote environmental awareness and fund projects relating to the environment in Queens’. The society is open to all students who wish to engage with the environment at Queens’
Queens' Padel Society
Padel Society set up in order to make padel more accessible for Queens’ students by providing subsidised court bookings and padel equipment, as well as a community through which members can arrange friendly and competitive matches among themselves
Queens' College Photography Society
Queens' College Amateur Pool Society (QUAPS)
This is a sports/activity society to bring together pool and snooker enthusiasts from Queens’ College! We will be putting on practices, tournaments and events to help people develop their skills and find people to play and practise with.
Russell Society
A subject society for students studying Psychology and Behavioural Science (PBS) at Queens’ college. This will be open to all psychology-related students at Queens’ and some events will be open for all students at Queens’ college to attend.
Queens' Squash Club
To build an inclusive squash culture within Queens' and to promote squash as a social activity.
Queens' College Tennis Club
This tennis club will compete in league matches and cupper’s representing Queens’. Sessions will also be organised for those who wish to play tennis recreationally or to improve their skill. Players of all levels are welcome.
