Self-Isolation JCR FAQ

The college self-isolation procedure can be found here and contains general info.

Q: Can I get food delivered from the buttery?

Yes. You can order by calling the buttery on 01223 335595. You need to do this before that meal slot opens (ideally 30 minutes before). The timings are currently*:

  • Breakfast – 8:30 – 9:30
  • Lunch - 12:15 – 14:15
  • Brunch – 11:00 – 13:45
  • Dinner – 17:45 – 19:30

*this may change over the Christmas period, but you will be emailed if so

Q: How does the self-isolation supporter system work?

If you need help with collecting parcels, printing, or food deliveries etc. and you don’t have a friend available to do it then the JCR has a network of volunteers who can help you. Just email [email protected]

If you are likely to need help with tasks throughout your isolation, you can be “paired” with a volunteer while you are isolating. If you need help with a one-off task, please give as much notice as possible (no sainsbury’s deliveries with 30 minutes notice please!)

Q: How can I have bins collected?

This can be arranged ad-hoc with housekeeping as required, by emailing: [email protected]

Q: What if I need books from the library?

The library should be able to help with delivering books: [email protected]

Q: I need stuff printed, how can I let someone else collect print jobs from my account?

It can be arranged ad-hoc with IT so that a nominated user can release print jobs from your account. Please contact [email protected] if you need this setup.

Q: Can I go outside for exercise?

Yes, but in a limited way. See the email titled “Updates & Self-Isolation Outdoor Time” from Tomos on the 12th November for more details.
