Hi! I’m Victoria, I study Geography, and I am this year’s Black & Minority Ethnic Officer.
I am from a multicultural area in London in which 100 different languages are spoken. With this background I am culturally aware and empathetic when it comes to the many cultures and religions that intersect to make up the identity of BME students at Cambridge.
My role as BME Officer is to continue the efforts to make Queens’ as inclusive and accepting as possible by organising and delivering fresh and innovative events and projects throughout the year.
The BME community at Queens’ is particularly friendly and caring and they were paramount in helping me to settle into college life when I first arrived at Queens’ as a fresher. I hope that through the various social and educational events held throughout the year the Queens’ BME community will become more cohesive.
Lastly, remember that as a BME student your thoughts and opinions are valid and necessary here. Don’t hesitate to contact me for any reason! My email is Victoria.Ayodeji@qjcr.org.uk
